The part of the brand name NORD is the geographical reference to the north of Switzerland, where Daniel Nebel was born in 1971 and where he now manufactures his unique timepieces. Since 2001, NORD ZEITMASCHINE has been registered by Daniel Nebel as a brand under which his outstanding creations are already internationally recognized.

Above, the word NORD contains its initials “N” and “D”, which means that it is also part of the brand name. As is easy to see, his watches actually combine many influences from mechanical engineering, where his professional career also originated with an apprenticeship as a mechanic. This influence is also reflected in the word time machine of the brand name.

Daniel Nebel

In 1995, after many years of work experience in the fields of prototyping and toolmaking, combined with various jobs abroad, Daniel Nebel began to study and manufacture wristwatches in parallel with his regular work. Three years later, in 1998, his first simple 3-hand watch was completed.

In the following years he expanded his knowledge of mechanical watches and continuously expanded his workshop. While in the beginning he mainly manufactured components such as housings, dials, crowns, pushers, screws and washers for his watches, the progress in development, construction and manufacture over the years has led him to produce other parts such as gears, bridges, hands, etc.

Not only does Daniel Nebel design and manufacture his own watch creations, he goes a step further and builds the high-precision CNC production machines according to his specific requirements.

It is only this high degree of mechanical precision that enables Daniel Nebel to produce complex watches such as CROSSNROLL, FREESDIAL, VARIOCURVE and QUICKINDICATOR independently from the design to the manufacture and assembly of the components in his own workshop.
